A 64-year-old man died Friday December 27, 2024 on a road in Isère after being crushed by a car and his son, suspected of being the driver of the vehicle, was arrested in the Paris region, we learned on Saturday with the police.
The son allegedly “ejected” his father from his moving car then crushed him
The sixty-year-old was found “around 8:15 p.m., unconscious in the middle of the road in Charvieu-Chavagneux in northern Isère, very close to the metropolis of Lyon. Taken care of by emergency services, he died at the scene,” they explained to AFP, confirming information from the regional daily. The Dauphiné Libéré.
The Bourgoin-Jallieu gendarmerie research brigade and the Grenoble research section were seized, they added.
According to a source close to the investigation, the hypothesis of a family dispute is favored: the victim had to spend the afternoon with one of his sons, who would have “ejected” his father from his moving car according to a witness before “dragging him out the door” and running over him.
The son arrested in the Paris region
Aged around thirty, the suspect was arrested by the national police in the Paris region where he had fled, according to the same source.
“Already under investigation” and arrested on Saturday December 28 in the afternoon, the son is the subject of a homicide investigation which was opened by the Vienna public prosecutor's office, according to the Dauphiné Libéré.
