Croatian Zrinka Ljutic created a sensation this Sunday by setting the best time in the first round of the last slalom of the year in Semmering (Austria). Three French women are qualified for the second round, Clarisse Brèche, Chiara Pogneaux and Marie Lamure.
It was the Croatian Zrinka Ljutic who made a strong impression this Sunday, December 29 on the Semmering track in Austria during the slalom. The young 20-year-old skier is in a good position to get her first World Cup victory, with a 51 hundredths lead over German Lena Duerr.
Current leader of the discipline, the Swiss Camille Rast achieved the third time in this first round (+0.98). Other favorites are also there like Wendy Holdener (4th, +1.13), or the Swede Sara Hector (6th, +1.49), already on the giant's podium this Saturday.
Three French women in the second round
On the French side, good performance from Clarisse Brèche who will be in the second round after having achieved the 18th time (+2.90). The same goes for Chiara Pogneaux (24th, +3.27), and Marie Lamure (26th, +3.44).
Further back, we find Marion Chevrier (50th, +5.65), while Marion Escane did not finish the first round.
