The Royal Moroccan Air Forces are reportedly on the verge of modernizing their air fleet. According to several sources, the Chinese L-15 Falcon aircraft is being considered to replace the venerable Alpha Jet, currently in service.

This training fighter, developed by Hongdu Aviation Industry Group, displays performances which seem to be of great interest to the Moroccan authorities.

With a maximum speed of Mach 1.4 and a payload capacity of 3,500 kg, the L-15 Falcon can carry out training missions, but also light attack missions. It thus positions itself as a serious competitor against other aircraft of the same type, such as the Russian Yak-130 or the Italian M-346. Its electronic flight control system and PESA radar make it possible to train pilots on the most modern, fourth and even fifth generation fighters.

Already adopted by several African countries, such as Zambia and Ethiopia, but also by the United Arab Emirates, the L-15 Falcon is on the rise. Pakistan and Ukraine have also reportedly expressed interest in this fighter jet. Could Morocco be next on the list?
