After the death of a 64-year-old man, crushed on a road in Isère, his son, suspected of being the driver of the vehicle, was arrested in the Paris region.
The investigation is moving towards parricide. A man in his thirties was arrested by the national police in the Paris region this Saturday, December 28, suspected of having run over his father on a road in Isère the day before. According to a witness, the 64-year-old man was “ejected” from the moving car, before being “dragged by the door”, then being rolled over.
“Already subject to a research report”
It was more precisely around 8:15 p.m. that the sixty-year-old was found “unconscious in the middle of the road in Charvieu-Chavagneux (Isère). Taken care of by emergency services, he died at the scene,” the gendarmes told AFP, confirming information from the regional daily Le Dauphiné Libéré.
The Bourgoin-Jallieu gendarmerie research brigade and the Grenoble research section were seized, they added. A source close to the investigation evokes the preferred hypothesis of a family dispute, when the victim had to spend the afternoon with one of his sons.
“Already under investigation” and arrested on Saturday afternoon in the Paris region after fleeing, the son is the target of an investigation for homicide which was opened by the prosecutor's office in Vienne (Isère), according to the Dauphiné Libéré.
