In the Oise, several mayors resigned at the end of 2024, and have (for some) handed over to their successor, now in office to begin 2025.

The latest, and not the least, Serge Macudzinskithe now former mayor (PCF) of Saint Maximinin the Creilloise area, who left office after 45 years in office!

The first female mayor elected in Saint-Maximin

The elected official had notably worked for the development of the commercial zone of his commune, which brings together more than 350 companies over an area of 200 hectares, where Carrefour recently replaced the emblematic Cora hypermarket.

During his mandate, Serge Macudzinski passed the torch to Chahinaise Azouzaappointed by the municipal council as the new mayor of Saint-Maximin, last Friday, December 19.

Having become the very first female mayor of this town of 3,000 people, she was previously a municipal councilor responsible for community life and youth. “Which also corresponds to one of our fundamental values, which is equality between men and women,” declared Serge Macudzinski.

I want to remain a municipal councilor but I would like a younger team to be put in place, ready to face a future that I consider very worrying for the municipalities and local authorities.

In Verberie, the mayor is also leaving

Another mayor to have left office, this time in a town of nearly 4,000 inhabitants: Michel Arnould (SE), at Verberyin the agglomeration of the Compiègne region.

In place since 2014, in this small town recently affected by a horrible chainsaw murder, announced his departure to his constituents on social networks. “I have devoted all of my time and energy to you to honor the commitments made and meet your needs.”

” It is a carefully considered choiceremained completely confidential, which was taken ten months ago so that the rest can be prepared calmly,” confides Michel Arnould. “There was no question of me serving a third term. It then seemed appropriate to me that a team with a new mayor be in place to propose and execute the municipality's 2025 budget.”

During these two mandates, Verberie was transformed, becoming much more attractive and pleasant. I now want to distance myself in order to find more freedom and time for my family. The collapse that has been experiencing for several years in almost all areas is unbearable to me.

His resignation has since been accepted by the Prefect of Oise. Before the election of his successor at the beginning of next January, she is his first deputy, Cécile Davidovicswho will act in the interim.

“An elected official, especially a municipal one, must know how to stop his mandates in time. It must not cling like a mussel to a rock, Jean-Claude Villemain confided to News Oise, before giving way to her former first deputy, who became the first female mayor of Creil.

“Creil is a city with unlimited potential, a young, dynamic city, a world city full of talent in all areas,” declared the person concerned. “We will continue the metamorphosis of Creil and our policies based on solidarity and humanity.”

Also in Vendeuil-Caply, near Breteuil, the mayor in place since 2009, Guillaume Ménard, also resigned, for health reasons, according to The Picardy Man. Marc Van Acker was elected to succeed him, who had already led the municipality from 2001 to 2009.
