This Saturday, December 28, a man lost his life following a tree pruning accident. The septuagenarian died following a falling branch. A 68-year-old woman was also injured.

A terrible drama unfolded this Saturday in the middle of the day. In the commune of Aurensan, west of the Gers department, a 74-year-old man lost his life following a falling tree branch during a pruning operation, shortly before 13 hours.

A member of the family apparently pruned a small tree, according to our information. The latter would then have fallen on the “bad side”. The septuagenarian died from his injuries when emergency services responded to the scene of the accident.

Another victim is to be deplored. It concerns a 68-year-old woman, taken into care by emergency services. For the moment, no information has been provided on his state of health, as the injuries are not, a priori, life-threatening. The 60-year-old was taken to hospital for further examinations.

On site, the gendarmerie was dispatched alongside the Gers fire brigade, as well as the mayor of the town.
