Dakar, Dec 27 (APS) – The Prime Minister insisted on digital security on Friday, noting that just yesterday (Thursday), the Senegalese system suffered an attack.

»We are in digital insecurity. Just yesterday our system was attacked. It is imperative to invest in this area to be safe,” declared Ousmane Sonko in responding to questions from deputies after his General Policy Declaration (DGP).

»The first aspect justifying the interest in investing in this sector is the security aspect. The other aspect is that digital is the first economic factor. Today the economy is digital,” explained the head of government.

According to him, “if we are not aware of our delay, we will never catch up”.

» Bad people can remotely sabotage or attack our system because our data is hosted abroad. Developed countries which are further ahead in this area have been able to achieve feats,” underlined Ousmane Sonko.
