Hair… My beautiful adventures is the first book that Catherine Rivière-Seguin will come and sign this Friday, December 27, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Maison de la Presse in Saint-Quay-Portrieux (Côtes-d’Armor).

This book offers a dive at the heart of a profession in constant evolution and with a social importance that is too often underestimated: the hairstyle.

Four generations

In the family of Catherine Rivière-Seguin, four generations have put their hands at the service of the hair, whether that of women or men, of a wealthy or, on the contrary, disadvantaged clientele.

Throughout the pages, the last hairdresser in her lineage takes us from era to era, from the early 20th century to the presenttelling us not only the story of a family devoted to her profession, but also that of a profession sometimes taking on the appearance of living art.

From Paimpol to Saint-Quay-Portrieux

I had a hairdressing salon in Paimpol from 1999 to 2007. Then, I continued to work but only by appointment, here in Saint-Quay-Portrieux. I wrote this book as a testimony, to share a life experience and to transmit it too. This job has changed a lot but I still love it. It is a great joy for me to be able to put him back in the spotlight!

This work, co-written with the complicity of Hélène Blockelet, which is aimed at everyone, is a real humanist journey which shows hairstyle as we have probably never imagined it, far from the clichés that we can have of it.
