Christmas is coming but the Seine-Saint-Denis prefecture is not giving gifts when it comes to the health of the population. Several health checks were carried out in establishments in the department. Violations of hygiene rules were noted. Three restaurants and a supermarket were sanctioned.

During their inspection, inspectors from the departmental population protection directorate (DDPP) were marked by lack of hygiene manual and bactericidal soap which presents a “major risk of food poisoning, particularly from fecal bacteria”. The cleaning of equipment and premises and their maintenance is “insufficient”.
Another problem: lack of traceability and secondary DLC. A list which is not exhaustive.
El Baraka in Montreuil
In this restaurant which did not have a declaration of activity, DDPP inspectors noted numerous shortcomings including insufficient means to combat harmful. Maintenance, cleaning and disinfection of the premises were deemed “insufficient”. Foodstuffs are not stored at appropriate temperatures, vegetables are not decontaminated, the origin of meats is not displayed, etc.
Bakaba Spicy Chicken in Gagny
The list of shortcomings noted by the inspectors resembles that of other sanctioned restaurants: lack of declaration of activity, pest control, procedure for cleaning and disinfection. A cleaning which has also been judged “insufficient”. Also, foodstuffs are untraceable.
MK Supermarket in Montreuil
Different types of businesses, same problem. Inspectors found that the establishment did not have a declaration of activity. The procedure for implementing good food hygiene practices does not exist, just like the procedure for cleaning and of disinfection premises and equipment.
In their reports, the DDPP experts estimated that continuing to operate these four establishments “would cause a serious public health risk“. The prefecture therefore ordered their immediate closure. They will be able to reopen once the requested modifications have been made.
