It is one of the obligatory passages for Strasbourg motorists every December 31. As the new year approaches, vehicles in the Alsatian capital are set on fire and car owners take precautions if they want to be able to drive with them the following year.
And even if the number of cars burned had fallen sharply on December 31, 2023 (a third less than in 2022), the Strasbourg Eurometropolis is setting up several free and monitored parking lots available to motorists: eleven in Strasbourg and six in neighboring communities.
Here, in detail, are the 17 car parks, which will be open from December 31 at 6 a.m. to January 1 at 3 p.m. You will find the complete list under the map:

In addition to the relay car parks, several car parks of establishments open to the public will be mobilized, such as that of the driving center on rue Guymener, that of the Schiltigheim swimming pool or even that of the Lixenbuhl sports complex, in Illkirch-Graffenstaden.
In addition, several streets in Strasbourg will be prohibited from parking:
