The friendly parties had already organized a Ufolep 82 departmental championship in December 2022 and the regional in 2023, on this bike park.
For this cyclo-cross competition, the Valencian club created a surprise by fielding no less than 25 participants. Probably a record for a championship!
We must highlight the work of the volunteers who planted 400 stakes and unrolled nearly 4,000 meters of tape to mark the route and who maintain the circuit all year round.
Cyclo-cross school
Fifteen of them came from this young friendly cyclo-cross school. Almost all of them had their first competition on Sunday, December 15.
Reassured by the fact of racing at home, on their track, they still had a little apprehension when taking the start for the first time, which quickly dissipated after the first meters covered. We felt an emulation to which their parents adhered.
Congratulations to Hugo Souton, Victoire Capitaine and Gabrielle Milinkovitch for the three departmental titles and to their comrades, often in places of honor: Raphaël, Quentin, Sacha, Justin, Gabin, Marius, Clément, Théo, Pablo, Noé, Léandro and Pierre .
In adults
Some of them provide training for young people aged 6 to 16 every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There were 10 on the commitment list, including the veteran and the club mascot, Jean-Claude Chambourlin, with his 81 years in the can. Virginie Gauger, Régis Larroque and Claude Roméro became 2024 champions. The last city is in its twelfth departmental title.
