The first assessments are dramatic and already indicate numerous victims and catastrophic material damage in this archipelago already affected by serious social difficulties. Faithful to the values of solidarity and mutual aid that characterize it, the City of Arras wishes to show its full solidarity to the bereaved families, the victims as well as the mobilized relief forces.
“The City of Arras is a city with deeply human and united values. As we were able to do during the earthquake in Haiti in 2010, or more recently during the war in Ukraine, the earthquake in Morocco and the floods in our region, it is our duty to make our contribution to solidarity national and international, explains Frédéric Leturque, Mayor of Arras.
In response to the joint call from the Association of Mayors of France and France Urbaine, Frédéric Leturque, Mayor of Arras, will propose at the next Municipal Council, on February 3, 2025, the vote on an exceptional support fund in in favor of Civil Protection, present on site to respond to first emergencies.
