The website from Romans Agglo (Drome) has a new look. It has been completely redesigned to meet the needs of users and current environmental issues, thus making it possible to simplify and make the public service more accessible.

“Launched in 2017, the old Valence Romans Agglo site no longer met current web standards or user expectations,” informs the Valence Agglo in a press release.

A drop in attendance

The lack of adaptation to mobiles, the difficulties of updating and an architecture made more complex by the multiplication of content have led the Agglo to completely rethink its digital presence.

At the same time, the creation of various “satellite” sites by Agglomerate entities has led to a drop in traffic to the main website. With users dispersing on these different platforms, the Agglo site has become less visible and readable for visitors, going from 620,000 visitors in 2019 at approximately 210,000 visitors in 2022.

The new site already integrates certain content previously processed in satellite sites (Rovaltain, Biodiversity Observatory, Toqué du local, Rénov'habitat durable, etc.) to offer a single access point and consistent with the services of the Agglomeration. Other content will gradually be integrated into the main site.

Focus on the new social initiatives section

The principle is to highlight local initiatives in terms of solidarity and ecology in its territory by presenting projects carried out by different actors (associations, institutions, businesses and citizens) around four themes:
– The circular and solidarity economy (reuse and management of resources);
– The living environment (quality of life and living together);
– Health and sustainable food (access to healthy, local food);
– Citizenship (participation of residents and creation of social links).
The platform is intended to be participatory, inviting everyone to draw inspiration from the projects presented or to share their own initiatives.

An eco-designed site

The complete redesign of the website is structured around three major axes. It is first of all a eco-designed sitewhich reduces its carbon footprint thanks to a minimalist approach favoring the essentials: simplified navigation, synthetic content and optimized multimedia elements. This responsible approach also makes it possible to significantly improve loading times.

Ensuite, ergonomics is redesigned and fully responsive to facilitate access from mobiles, which currently represent two thirds of connections. The most sought-after services, such as swimming pool opening hours, the family portal, canteen menus or job and housing searches, are therefore directly accessible from the home page.

Finally, the new version offers a reinforced human dimension with a new “Portraits” module highlighting local actors and initiatives.

The new Agglo site also provides direct access to practical services (swimming pools, canteen menus, job search, etc.) and a section dedicated to professionals (companies, co-ownerships, sports associations, cultural actors, circular economy and social innovation, etc.).
