Red lantern Ligue 2demoted as a precautionary measure and banned from recruitment by the DNCG, looking for a new coach since the dismissal of Thierry Laurey… Positive signals are rare on the side of the FC Martigues since the start of the season. Temporarily promoted to head of the Martégal professional group, Ibrahim Rachidi spoke about the challenge awaiting his team and the current situation.

« It would be pretentious to say that in one or two weeks, I will get better. I think the most important thing is to clear heads in relation to this Coupe de France match. We try to prepare it in the best possible way, trying to restore confidence in the group. I think that’s the most important thing, the mental aspect, when there is no result, when things are not going well. We’re lucky to have a group with good people, players who have a great mentality. Because we know very well that in such conditions, we could have a group that fractures and that is not the case. They are united, united. The idea is to restore confidence in the group, and to try, from Saturday, to have a positive result to be able to tackle the other part of the championship well. […] For them, as for me, it was quite easy. I have always had good relationships with the players, whether during the Poirier years or with coach Laurey. It was a bit of my role during these three years spent with the club. A relay role with the coaches, I had a fairly close relationship with the players. It happened naturally, the players took it quite well. I am at the disposal of the club which asked me to be of service to it, and I find it normal to do my best to do it well. »
