Christmas events follow one another in Brest. Here is the program for the week, until Sunday December 22, 2024.

Wednesday December 18

• Plant embroidery workshop: everyone from 10 years old. Running out of gift ideas? The librarians welcome you for workshops.

> In Santa’s yurt at the Christmas Village, Place de la Liberté from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. By reservation on site.

• Christmas in Saint-Pierre: enjoy the creations and treats offered by the actors of the Saint-Pierre district! The stilt walkers from the company Anime your dreams will accompany you with their Mischief and the carriage will be present again. At 4 p.m., magician Stéfane Laurens will present his show School of magicin the Odyssey room of the MPT.

> Place de Quilbignon (town of Saint-Pierre), from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

• Fresh wind, warm hearts by Céline Gumuchian: 30-minute story for ages 3 and up (not suitable for under 3s). Winter has laid down its white coat. Each animal is holed up in its own home. Stomachs begin to rumble. A wolf’s hunger will drag them, in turn, into this frozen great white. Under the paws, it crunches, it cracks. Rabbit, pig and cow discover snow, its strangeness, its magic, its wonders.

• Christmas concert by the university symphony orchestra. Special tales and legends.

> At 8:30 p.m. at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, Amphi Guilcher, 20 rue Dusquene.

The national ensemble of bandourists of Ukraine on Thursday

The national ensemble of bandourists of Ukraine, made up of around forty singers and musicians, will perform Thursday December 19 at 7:30 p.m., at the Notre-Dame de Kerbonne church (free participation).

The program will mainly feature popular Ukrainian Christmas songs.

Christmas at the Capuchins Saturday

Kick-off this Saturday of the Christmas Fairies at the Capuchins. This year’s theme: the seabed. On the program until January 5: workshops, shows, concerts…

Music will resonate this Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 in the streets of the city center with Les Karen Sheriff, Christmas special by Cactus Riders, DJ Christmas by Cie DUT and The Turkey Sisters sing Christmas.

On Sunday, the Richelieu lounge at city hall will also host Christmas concerts: Songs of the Journey from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., À virer from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. and L’air de rien from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• Operation Rotate the rides! this weekend

Small artists’ rides can be discovered along the streets of the city center: The Contravent Carousel, The Maharaja’s Carousel, The Feathered Carousel, The Marine Carousel, The Garden Cabin and The Nomadic Tree.

Note that this weekend, L’Hippomobus is back in service to take a carriage ride, departing from rue Frézier (from 2 p.m.).
