This year, our Great International Expo should once again attract many visitors. The quantity and quality of the 70 artists coming from France, England, Belgium, Italy and Switzerland, among others, are worth the trip alone. Montsûrs will be, for six weeks, the capital of the plastic arts, with the presentation of 160 works.
comments, enthusiastically, the president of the Majestic Gallery Montsûrs (MGM) Catherine Guillet.
In addition to paintings and sculptures, MGM will present photography and digital creations.
Artists’ works on the big screen
Our exhibition will feature the two sites from last year: the gallery and the annex room of the town hall.
To be able to more easily accommodate arts lovers, the Le Majestic cinema will be used. Last year, more than 150 people attended. This year there should be even more of us. We have had agreement from the cinema to use the room where 300 people will be able to attend the opening with many artists. We decided to innovate.
The artists' works will be projected on the big screen, with musical accompaniment by Cécile Branche, Celtic harpist, author, performer and singer. From the Majestic room, visitors can go to the heated barn adjoining it, where they can share a cocktail prepared by Le Bréen, while chatting with the artists.
Three opening Sundays and demonstrations
For six weeks from December 13, 2024 to January 25, 2025, 160 works will be exhibited. The openings of the two rooms (gallery and town hall) do not change: Wednesday to Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. We decided to open three Sundays in December, with painting demonstrations, and a meeting with our poet and writer friends from MGM and the sector.
underlines Catherine Guillet.
On December 15, Philippe Genest will talk about pointillism; December 22, signings with Jean-Marc de la Fonchais, Marcel Kermann (poets), and Yves Moisy (novelist); on December 29, demonstration by Sanchae on biosourced paint. Friday, December 13, the two exhibition rooms close at 5:45 p.m. to attend the opening at 6 p.m.
