An investigation was opened and entrusted to the environmental police after a discovery made in Sainte-Rose (Reunion) at the home of an individual on the morning of Tuesday, November 26, 2024. On site, dozens of parakeets, three turtles and six macaws were found and placed under the responsibility of an association, reports Meeting The First Tuesday December 3, 2024.
The intervention organized to combat animal abuse mobilized seven investigators from the French Office of Biodiversity (OFB), three firefighters specializing in animals and three officials from the judicial police of the autonomous territorial brigade of Sainte-Rose, detailed the gendarmes of La Réunion on Facebook.
