The Les Amis de la Coopé association is organizing its open days and a mini Christmas market on Saturday December 7, 2024 in Langon (Gironde). “La Coopé, the participatory grocery store, unique in South-Gironde, is preparing to celebrate its 3 years of existence,” explains Pascal Lejeune, employee and co-founder of La Coopé. So, we invite everyone – those who already know us and those who don’t yet, to come celebrate this birthday togetheron the occasion of these festive moments! »

Festive moment from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The open house will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the store located at 3 chemin de la Garenne. “The opportunity to discover the great diversity of our products and perhaps find ideas for holiday meals, or even gifts», underlines Véronique Bergerie, in charge of communications for the association.

A mini Christmas market will also be held that day, with a stand from the chocolatier Patrick Brossard, one from the pastry chef Véronique Combret and another offering so-called 'second hand' toys, “to be faithful to the spirit of The Coopé, that is to sayavoid waste“. There will also be a Christmas decoration making workshop.

Good to know: “the success of the grocery store is also due to the fact that customers can place orders . Because not everything we offer is necessarily on the shelves, in order to avoid waste and allow us to offer an even wider choice all year round for customers,” informs Véronique Bergerie.

“So, kitchen utensils, wooden toys… or even food products can be ordered. For example, we are going to offer the galette des rois to order, just ask the members of the association.”

280 members and 50 producer families

This anniversary is “an opportunity for the association to thank consumers, volunteers and members (280 in December 2024), as well as grocery producers (50 families), without forgetting the institutional partners” thanks Pascal Lejeune.

As a reminder, ” the grocery store is open to allwithout compensation for giving your free time to run the business, service dedicated to volunteers only,” he insists. “Because for those who are interested, the participatory grocery project isa great adventurein which everyone can take part, don't hesitate to find out! »

The association is also participating in a unique experiment in Social Food Security in Gironde, launched by the Department. “It is also currently hosting a civic service and an intern, as part of a retraining,” underlines Véronique Bergerie.
