Cécile de France and Elise Otzenberger unveil “Par Amour” filmed in Metz

Cécile de and Elise Otzenberger were guests of Info to discuss the film “Par Amour” which was partly filmed in .

The Moselle has been turning into a filming land for several years. The next delivery of a feature film partly made in Metz is called “For Love”. Directed by Elise Otzenbergerwith Cécile of France in the lead role, this film presents the story of a forty-year-old on the verge of burnout who takes care of her two children almost alone. One of them has a special relationship with water.
The two women were invited to the Moselle Info set this Monday, December 2 and they were able to lift the veil on this creation which will be unveiled in theaters on January 15, 2025. For Elise Otzenberger it is above all a family story.

I wanted to tell a family story, the story of this mother, a heroine that I had in mind for a long time. While listening to my children play I wanted to tell the story of this mother/son relationship. I wanted to talk about a mother who believes very strongly in her children and who will help her family take a step forward.

For the role of the mother “Sarah”, Cécile de France quickly appeared as “the dream actress for this film”. As for the actress, it’s the story of a favorite scenario.

I see a character as a part of creation and the desire to travel in the director's imagination. After falling in love with the scenario, with this path of a mother who believes her child against all odds in a society that leaves little room for dreams. It's a personal, intimate film that invites us to reconnect with our childhood.

Combining fantasy and more classic cinema, this film addresses a particular relationship with water.

Water has always been important to me. I scuba dive, I grew up with Commander Cousteau's films… It's a place of mystery and fantasy for me. I quickly knew that it had to be a fantastic film, in this area.

Elise Otzenberger

The feature film was partly shot in Moselle, a territory which offered all the necessary guarantees to the production team, young and old alike.

Everything was right to tell our story. Whether it was the Moselle, this cathedral which was there and which itself initiated something fantastic, extraordinary for this simple family in which we recognize ourselves… The filming was very joyful, we felt good in this city which is specific to celebration, joy, the children loved it and it was perfect for telling this story.

This “fantastic drama” will meet its audience on January 15, 2025. Until then, Alicia Hiblot will devote a special edition of her show La Boîte à M'Alice to it, once again in the company of Cécile de France and Elise Otzenberger.
