Chambéry, Cluses, Annecy and Rumilly Vallières… There were four clubs competing for the 8th round of the Coupe de France. The latter was played last weekend. A quick overview of each person's performance.
Annecy, only survivor of this 8th round
Of the four teams present in this 8th round, only one escaped. And she was the big favorite.
The FC Annecy, resident of Ligue 2, well placed to play the climb, was extremely scared. Faced with valiant players from Jura Sud, a National 2 team, the FCA had to work hard and go all the way to penalties.
The other three teams, who played at a lower level, failed just before the Ligue 1 clubs entered the fray.
The march was the most complicated for the club Cluses Scionzier. Playing in R1, the Savoyards faced Troyes, a Ligue 2 team. The former Ligue 1 residents won by the narrowest of margins, 1-0.
It was just as complicated for Chambery. The club, which plays in N3, was beaten by Dijon, a National team with a score of 2-0.
The small “underperformance” comes from Rumilly Vallières. The latter faced GOAL FC who play in the same group as them in the championship. The latter, who were behind them in N2, won on penalties.
For Annecy, the draw will take place this evening. The round of 32 matches will take place on December 21 and 22.
