“The marmot, an emblematic mammal of the French mountains, continues to be hunted by tradition. The purpose of this text is to harmonize regulations throughout the territory by prohibiting this practice which accentuates the decline of a population already strongly impacted by human activity and global warming,” writes the Savoyard MP on his social networks.

This is the first time that a bill against marmot hunting has been tabled in the National Assembly.

The AJA association. has been defending this choice to abolish marmot hunting for a long time. They launched a petition on this subject, which has collected more than 99,000 signatures since its launch.
