INFO BFM HERE. Twelve individuals were taken into custody this Monday, December 2 as part of an investigation into extensive drug trafficking in the Southern Alps. Handguns and drugs were seized during searches.
This is an operation that has been on the calendar of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence gendarmes for several weeks. 12 people, eleven men and one woman, suspected of supplying vast drug trafficking networks, were arrested and taken into police custody this Monday, December 2 in the morning in the Southern Alps, BFM DICI learned.
140 gendarmes, supported by police officers, carried out these arrests and searches in Manosque, Banon, Villeneuve, Vinon-sur-Verdon and Gap.
This operation is the result of titanic investigative work carried out over many months and linked to a case of kidnapping which occurred in the town of Banon (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence).
Drugs and handguns seized
The dog teams from Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Var and Vaucluse and the Choucas 04 aerial section also went to the site.
Cocaine, weed, cannabis resin, handguns and even objects for growing drugs were found during the searches which continued this Monday afternoon.
