In Lyon, Marseille and Paris, there were thousands yesterday to demonstrate against the modification of the convention which binds them to social security. Taxis fear article 17 of the financing bill, which provides for a reduction in the reimbursement rate for medical trips. In Lozère, no demonstration. There are only around forty taxi companies, 23 of which are members of the Lozère taxi union, of which Giovanni Perri is president.
“Currently, a small taxi company in Lozère which is approved, its turnover linked to medical transport represents between 90 and 95%. In summer, there are a few walkers, hikers, a few lost tourists… it's tiny compared to the rest. If they do what they say, that's easily at least a 30% drop in revenue. The place of medical transport in the social security budget is 3%it will increase to 2.8 with their modification. My position is simple: is it normal to undermine companies where sometimes there are less than five employees for 0.2 or 0.3% gain on the social security budget?
