It dated from 2016. The twinning agreement was renewed and signed on Friday November 29, at the Hôtel du Département, by the president, Gérôme Fassenet, and Colonel Philippe Le Bot, Commander of the 6e equipment regiment in Besançon. In fact, this partnership, now well anchored in the territory, is not only continued, but also updated and strengthened. The Jura has been a military desert for several decades now. Like 20 other French departments currently. With this type of agreement, it thus reinforces privileged military attention.

An effective presence from different angles
To understand clearly, the idea is quite simply to encourage joint activities, and to have representations during important commemorations. On this subject, no one will have escaped the presence of the 6e RMAT, at several historic events and other national holidays. But not only that. The Bisontin regiment often carries out training in the Jura. The first maintenance company was also present in demonstration on October 9, in Lons-le-Saunier. The opportunity, in particular, to carry out a vehicle repair demonstration, and to introduce yourself to the general public.
Implicit joint activities
This departmental partnership therefore reinforces an already existing presence in practice. And if there were three key words to remember in said convention, it would be: promote, disseminate, be present. Another common point clearly identified within the framework of this twinning: the joint dissemination relating to everything relating to the citizenship process, the census, and the Defense and Citizenship Days (JDC). This agreement also reinforces the connections between the regiment and other communities in the department. And in this area, three municipalities are already partners: Poligny and the command and logistics company, Lons-le-Saunier and the first maintenance and mobility company, and finally, Champagnole and the 9e Reserve company.
