The Drôme department presented this new system to 4th grade students at Marcelle Rivier college.
For the current school year, the Department has decided to set up training in first aid, in the Drôme colleges, for 4 year old students.e. On November 12, the president of the department Marie-Pierre Mouton presented the outlines of this new training to those of the Marcelle Rivier college in Beaumont-lès-Valence. A big feature is that technology is used to make the training as immersive as possible. During the exercises, the students wear a virtual reality headset allowing them to be immersed in very realistic situations, which promote concentration and memorization. The practice, which lasts 40 minutes, allows students to understand various situations: protecting the victim, using a defibrillator, performing cardiac massage or even reacting in the event of a terrorist attack.
4,000 students trained over the school year
Funded to the tune of €200,000 by the Department, this educational action is carried out by the company D'un Seul Geste, based in Alixan and specializing in first aid training using virtual reality. Over the current year 2024-2025, a total of 4,000 students, from 29 Drôme establishments (23 public and 6 private), must follow this immersive training
