Animal Christmas at the Castle
From December 10 to January 5, the building transforms into a winter forest populated by animals. This year, the master of the house, Marlamain, the Duchess’s beloved cat
from Maine, returns to live at the Domaine and leads young visitors to follow the trail of its little furry inhabitants. Will you be cunning like the fox or smart like the monkey to find their secret hiding place? Under a dresser, behind the piano or even inside the paintings, they are everywhere!
A free games booklet for 6-12 year olds allows you to follow in their footsteps (available on request at the Château reception).

From December 13 to 15with The Great Hours of Sealsthe Estate with its prestigious history will host musical visits inviting music lovers or the simply curious to listen to opera arias and Christmas carols. Shows are announced in the museum where visits will be punctuated with magic tricks. Parents and children will also be able to make small characters inspired by the works which will then decorate their home.

It is carried out by the Urasenke school in our tea pavilion located in the museum garden or in the pavilion inside during the low season; Indoor sessions benefit from a matcha tea tasting.

At the Prefiguration Pavilion of the Musée du Grand Siècle

Concert
The viol pieces of Marin Marais, known to the public since Pascal Quignard's Tous les Matins du Monde, are among the most beautiful pages of baroque music. Marais makes the viol speak, to the point that one would say that with him the instrument has almost the perfection of the human voice. From the Follies of Spain to the dance suites, this program revisits the life of Marais and his master, the unforgettable Monsieur de Sainte Colombe. During this intimate concert punctuated by listening keys, adults and children alike will be able to discover the astonishing sounds of the viola da gamba, accompanied by the theorbo and the harpsichord.
