Since June 2021, Alexandra, passionate about crafts and local products, has been able to make her shop “Les Découvertes d’Alex”, an unmissable place to Malestroit (Morbihan).

After three and a half years of activity, the store recently opened on the Place du Bouffay, a carefully considered move in collaboration with the town hall and the owners of the new space.

Family adventure

Alexandra first launched the adventure solo. Then his daughter Valentineafter studying business and experience in marketing in , joined her. Unfulfilled in her former position, she was already contributing remotely to communication and marketing of the store.

Passionate about creative hobbies, Valentine began to make candles, an activity which found its place in the store, where the supply of local candles was lacking. This mother-daughter duo then decided to work hand in hand.

Valentine has returned to Malestroit, her hometown, and today, each has a well-defined role. Valentine manages communication, social networks and candle making, while Alexandra takes care of administration, accounting and products such as home fragrances, teas, infusions and sweets. However, they both train at each stage of crafting to remain versatile.

The store offers a wide range of local products mainly from Morbihan: beers from Malestroit, caramel from Quiberon or even jams from ESAT de Carentoir. For cosmetics, these are natural Breton products from Côtes-d'Armor.

The Levenez workshops: a new chapter

In January 2025, a new space will open at Place Queinnec, in the old CIC building, under the name from the Levenez Workshops (meaning “happiness” in Breton).

This place will be dedicated to the artisanal production and sale of their homemade creations: they are now distributed in more than 60 points of sale in and even in Belgium. To support this growth, a biochemistry intern will be recruited to strengthen perfume manufacturing.

Sensitive to the preservation of the environment, they offer alternatives durablesespecially with solid cosmetics.

Their eco-responsible approach and their desire to promote the local are very successful with a clientele looking for meaning and quality. The beginning, certainly, of a long and wonderful family business.
