Returning from a white season after knee surgery, Mickaël Le Berre was already there ten years ago, when Ginglin faced Plabennec. The survivor enjoyed the moment against Rouen on Saturday, in front of his son, little Eden, with a valiant heart.
Coupe de France (8th round). As Ginglin Cesson (R1) – FC Rouen (N): 0-3
He gritted his teeth, “because we don’t play a match like this every day.” Having undergone cruciate ligament surgery in June 2023, returning to competition at the very end of last season, Mickaël Le Berre lasted just an hour. “It was my limit”, since his left knee had been creaking “for a week”. A strap, of course, tightened his joint, but he tore part of it off after a quarter of an hour of play. “It bothered me.” The rest was played out mentally. Its first quality.
“I spent one more lap”
Mickaël Le Berre (30 years old) has the Ginglinais spirit, and even a little more than that. After his beginner years at Plaine-Haute, he trained with the Aiglons. Resident at Pôle Espoir de Ploufragan with Pierre-Yves Hamel, he then spent two seasons at Guingamp and another at Stade Briochin before returning home as an employee.
“I was there ten years ago, when we played Plabennec at Fred-Aubert.” It was November 15, 2014, in the 7th round. “I’ve had one more lap!” I was a regular but in another role, I was ten years younger (smile).” So eccentric, it has evolved into a relay environment for a while now. “We have a stronger team than at the time,” notes the future manager of a real estate agency in Quintin.
“When I got injured, I thought I’d stop”
Like his comrades, the big regret was this first goal conceded. On a corner which was not a corner since the ball had not gone out, neither on Paul Jehanno's counter nor on the intervention of Carl Hinault. “It’s a shame to concede a goal from a set piece. We would have liked to bring them to 0-0 until twenty minutes or a quarter of an hour from the end.”
As against Plabennec (1-4), the final score does not matter (0-3). “We will quickly forget it.” The memory of having faced an FC Rouen that was built to look higher will remain. “I have been following them for two years, because there is Ahmad (Allée), with whom I played in 14 federal years, and because there was Zana, with whom I was at Pôle Espoir. It’s a team that plays on the ball, with good players like Benkaid, Benzia and Ferrah (on loan from Lille) who is very, very strong.”
He was not 100% on November 30, 2024, as we said. “But we must remain lucid. We played at Roudourou, against a great National team, we are a group of friends. We bit into it! “.
“Micka” knows the fragility of life. “When I got injured, I thought I would stop there. In the end, a year and a half later, I’m playing this match.” Her little Eden was even there to follow her dad. “He had heart surgery in June at Necker hospital. After that, I can tell you that we put things into perspective. Losing 3-0, honestly, it doesn't matter! “. The post-match party quickly confirmed it.
