Dramatic accident on the roads of Béziers. A woman seriously hit by a bus.
This Monday, November 25, around 4 p.m., a serious accident occurred on avenue Jean-Moulin in Béziers. A pedestrian aged over 80 was hit by a bus. The impact caused extremely serious injuries, with one of his legs crushed and the other severed.
Multiple fractures
Béziers firefighters quickly took care of the victim on the scene. Given the seriousness of her injuries, the civil security helicopter, the Dragon 34, was dispatched to airlift the pedestrian to Montpellier. The victim was evacuated to the Department of Anesthesia and Resuscitation (DAR) of Lapeyronie hospital in Montpellier.
Driver and bus detained for investigation
The bus driver is in shock after this dramatic accident. As an administrative measure, the authorities withheld his license for 48 hours. The bus involved was immobilized under seal while investigators established the exact circumstances of the accident.
