Grégory Veyret will participate on December 6 and 7 in Agen in the French championship in two categories: individual canaries in a set of 4 birds with his yellow and white phaos canaries
Grégory Veyret, young entrepreneur, lives on the heights of Saint-Thomas-en-Royans with his wife and children. During the week, he is an artisan tiler whose reputation is well established and the weekends are devoted to the breeding of his phaos canaries. Grégory started modestly in the competition in 2009 with a first pair of small birds. For more than fifteen years, this forty-year-old has been pampering his precious collection canaries and watching them like milk on the stove: “They need special food and pay attention to temperatures,” he specifies.

A harvest of medals
Our craftsman from Royans has launched into national and international competition successfully. He picked up several prices including two world champion medals in 2023 in Naples during an international ornithology championship. And this year, Grégory won the silver medal at the 71st world championship in Ralavera de la Reina in Spain. Next stop: France. At the close of registrations, there will be 580 participants for the French championship in Agen and 5,569 birds in competition on December 6 and 7. Among them, Grégory Veyret will once again be in good place. But it won't stop there. “I will prepare for the world championship which will take place in 2025 in Portugal.”
