Farmers are demonstrating again this Tuesday, November 26, at the call of the FDSEA and the Young Farmers of Côte-d’Or. Around forty tractors, around 250 farmers, gathered in front of the agency of the French Biodiversity Office. This is once again a matter of denouncing the way in which controls linked to compliance with environmental standards in particular are carried out. Controls which condition the payment of CAP aidthe common agricultural policy.

Farmers explain that controls by state services are a condition for benefiting from advance payments paid by Europe within the framework of the common agricultural policy. These controls must be carried out and finalized to be able to benefit from an advancein the fall. However, some are not carried out, or finalized, which blocks the payment of deposits. “More flexibility is needed” explains Antoine Duthu, president of the Young Farmers of Côte-d’Or. “If the advances are not paid, it creates cash flow problems, they don’t need that at the moment”.

The demonstration took place peacefullyaccording to Antoine Duthu, “we don’t intend to make a mess” he said. Farmers dumped manure in front of the OFB agency in Montbard, and are planning a similar demonstration this Thursday, November 28, this time in front of the OFB agency in .
