In service since October, the new bioNGV station in Les Herbiers was officially inaugurated on November 22. This is the seventh station operated by Vendée Energie, the SEM of the Vendée Energy and Equipment Union (SYDEV).
Installed in the immediate vicinity of the A87 motorway, the Herbiers bioNGV station was deployed in just four months. Located on Route de Gaubretière, the installation mainly targets professionals in the region, and in particular heavy vehicles for the transport of goods and people. Among the first users are the community of communes of Pays des Herbiers, the transport companies Ziegler, Ageneau, Devaud and Sovetour and the company U LOG.
« This station serves businesses and communities that wish to use the energies of the future. Thanks to the voluntarism of its stakeholders, Vendée sets an example of the essential transitions that we must collectively demonstrate. » underlined Alain Leboeuf, president of the Department of Vendée and Sydev, during the inauguration.

350 tonnes per year from 2025
Equipped with 4 distribution tracks, the Les Herbiers bioNGV station is open 24 hours a day. Accessible by bank card, it also accepts different cards: Vendée GNV, DKV and Romac Fuel.
In the start-up phase, the station should deliver 80 tonnes of bioNGV this year before increasing to 350 tonnes in 2025. At cruising speed, the installation will be able to deliver 500 tonnes per year.
The 8th station in the region
Eighth station in the Vendée department, the Herbiers station is the 7th operated by Vendée Energie after those of La Chaize-le-Vicomte (2018), Les Essarts-en-Bocage (2019), Fontenay-le-Comte (2020) , La Roche-sur-Yon (2021), Challans (2022) and Les Sables-d’Olonne (2023). It is part of a deployment plan announced in 2016.
Representing an investment of €1.3 million excluding tax, it was deployed in conjunction with various partners, including Mesure Process on the design/installation part.
A new station planned in Montaigu-Vendée
After the Herbiers station, the Vendée Energie network will be completed by an eighth station. Planned in the territory of Montaigu-Vendée, this is in the process of land identification.
