Part of the A14 motorway will be closed this Monday evening, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. On the night of November 26 to 27, 2024, the Yvelines prefecture is organizing a safety exercise in the covered trench of Saint-Germain-en-Laye on the motorway. The aim of this exercise is to simulate a fire in the tunnel in order to test and improve the interventions of the emergency services and guarantee the safety of users.
To ensure optimal progress of the exercise, the highway will be closed in both directions. Motorists are invited to take the numerous diversions put into service, particularly at the interchanges. A14/A86, A13/A14 or the entrance ramps to the Chambourcy diffuser (Yvelines).
Specific signage will be put in place and information messages will be broadcast on radio 107.7.
This training aims to prepare the intervention services (SDIS, SANEF, CRS, sub-prefecture) to intervene effectively in the event of a real incident. By simulating these situations, teams will be able to identify areas for improvement to guarantee rapid and effective intervention in reality.
Since June 19, 2024 at 5 a.m., users of the A14 motorway no longer have to take a ticket from a terminal or take out their bank card to pay the tolls at Montesson and Chambourcy, in Yvelines. The motorway concession company, Sanef, has implemented free flow, a system which consists of replacing physical barriers with cameras and sensors which identify and record number plates.
