Legislative elections in Aude: Régis Banquet, president of Carcassonne Agglo, calls to vote for the candidates of the New Popular Front

The day after the first round of the early legislative elections, Sunday June 30, Régis Banquet, president of Carcassonne Agglo, took a position for the second round by supporting the three candidates of the New Popular Front qualified in each constituency of the Aude department.

While the three National Rally MPs came out on top in the three constituencies of Aude, the president of Carcassonne Agglo decided to clarify his position by calling for a vote in favour of the candidates of the New Popular Front (NFP) who qualified for the second round of the early legislative elections. This includes Philippe Poutou, parachuted into 1re constituency of Aude, whose candidacy made waves. Régis Banquet had also supported the candidacy of Aurélien Turchetto, a various left-wing dissident candidate.

But faced with the possible accession of the RN to power, the man who is also mayor of Alzonne is not hesitating: “Faced with the National Rally, we are the only response in the department but also at the national level. Let us be worthy of this trust given by many voters and let us all together ensure that we do not give an absolute majority to the National Rally.” And to conclude: “In any case, you can count on me to put all my energy into this fight.”
