This Monday marks a real turning point on the A1 Padel: the number 1 pair is no longer Arce / Dal Bianco. The Argentinians, after having reigned on Fabrice Pastor’s circuit for more than two years, leave their throne to their compatriots who beat them this Sunday in the final of the Galicia Open.
On March 16, 2022, Maxi Arce and Franco Dal Bianco became the number 1 pair of the late APT Padel Tour. The Argentines, who seized the throne at the expense of Fede Chiostri and Gonzalo Alfonso, were preparing to reign for more than two years on this circuit which would later become the A1 Padel.
But after a thunderous start from the Aguirre / Alfonso pair, Gonzalo Alfonso first regained his place as number 1 on the Fabrice Pastor circuit in mid-June. And thanks to the victory in the final of the Galicia Open against Arce / Dal Bianco, Tolito and Gonzalo now form the first pair of A1 Padel!

As you can see, the gap between the two duos is still minimal, which means that Arce and Dal Bianco could very quickly regain their place, but with only one title in six tournaments, the dynamics are not really in their favor. Conversely, Tolito and Alfonso have won 29 of the 30 matches they have played this year on the A1 Padel and are in a crazy dynamic. Will Maxi and Franco, who have played “only” three finals in 2024, be able to recover soon?
