6th constituency of the Loire: a face-off between Grégoire Granger and Jean-Pierre Taite in the second round

The young deputy departmental delegate of the National Rally (RN) came out on top in the first round in the 6th constituency of the Loire. The outgoing Republican MP will have to make up nearly 1,000 votes if he wants to keep his seat in the National Assembly.

Buoyed by the momentum of the National Rally (RN) since the European elections of June 9, Grégoire Granger won the first round of the legislative elections in the 6th constituency of the Loire, this Sunday, with 39.71 of the votes cast. While he had not been able to stay in the second round in 2022, the young man from Saint-Romain-le-Puy recorded more than 31,000 votes in the ballot of this June 30, almost triple the votes collected two years ago.

The deputy departmental delegate of the National Rally (RN) is ahead of the outgoing deputy, Jean-Pierre Taite, by almost 1,000 votes. The departmental president of Les Républicains (LR) convinced less than 22,000 people (21,724) in this first round, which represents 27.81% of the votes.

The triangular
didn’t go far

He will have to fill this gap in a face-to-face with the RN candidate since Marie-Paule Olive is not able to stay in the race. The candidate of the New Popular Front (NFP) obtained “only” 13,472 votes and, if she comes in 3rd position in this first round, this only represents 12.04% of registered voters while the threshold to stay in the race is set at 12.5%.

The disappointment is even greater for Alexandre Silva. The Ensemble pour la République candidate only received 9,721 votes (12.45% of votes).
