Guyana: Visit by the president of UDE-MEDEF Guadeloupe to pool issues

During his visit, Bruno Blandin participated in the Board of Directors of MEDEF Guyana, addressing the subject of common issues such as the fight against the high cost of living, the draft finance laws and financing of social security for 2025, or the challenges of the digital transition and the services offered by MEDEF. These discussions aim to strengthen common strategies to respond to local issues while promoting the influence of the two territories.

On the ground, two exemplary Guyanese initiatives have attracted attention. First of all, Yana Wassai, a company led by Dave Drelin, presented its activities focused on the promotion of local products such as wassai, turmeric and awara, marketed under the Saveur Amazone brand. These products embody an approach to local transformation and promotion of the cultural identity of Guyana. This company also illustrates the benefits of close cooperation between economic and institutional players.

The visit also included a presentation of the installations of the company Gov'Environnement, led by Pascal Govindin. The Maringouins site, specialized in the treatment and storage of non-hazardous waste, plays a key role in the management of waste from households and businesses in Guyana. Gov' Environnement also integrates waste recovery processes to produce energy, thus reinforcing the positive environmental impact of its activities.

This visit highlighted the opportunities for collaboration between Guadeloupe and Guyana to promote sustainable and innovative economic development, while highlighting exemplary local initiatives. A dynamic that could ultimately benefit all overseas territories.
