Like last year, but with a new status! Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Faubourg de Verdun stadium in Pontivythe RC Vannes will carry out its first pre-season training session.
This time, it is as Pro D2 champion and promoted to Top 14 that Jean-Noël Spitzer’s players will end their intense first week. Physical and health tests, initial adjustments: it’s free and open to the public.
Rugby initiation, training and signings
Before the arrival of RC Vannes at 10:30 a.m., a initiation rugby will be organized from 9:15 a.m. The children from the leisure centers of Central Brittany will be supervised by technical managers from the Brittany League as well as coaches.
Then, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., it’s time for the Vannetais to train, notably recruits such as the experienced Fabrice Metz (ex-Pau), Hugo Djehi (ex-Colomiers), and Christiaan Van Der Merwe (ex-Nevers).
At the end of training, the players will present the Pro D2 champion shield to the public. Photos, signings, discussions with the children will take place until 12:30 p.m. “Families will be able to have lunch at noon at the Faubourg de Verdun. A food truck will be installed,” says Eric Guillermic, president of RC Pontivyen.
As in summer 2023, it is Saint-Gonnery that the RC Vannes players will have a moment of cohesion. On the afternoon of Friday July 19, they will do tree climbing as well as laser game.
