Anne Le Hénanff (Ensemble)

“The triangular one was one of the options. We are going to give everything between these two rounds to make it clearer and bring down the National Rally. Now we have to transform the test. The objective is to maintain our points ahead so that it is clear. The mandate given to me two years ago is, I think, confirmed this evening. This is what I will fight for for the next five days. What shocks me the most this evening is to see that those who voted RN for the Europeans confirmed for the Legislatives. We have an extremely high rate here in Vannes. This is the new thing on the territory. The RN at 34% in France? I can not believe it. My objective will be to make this rate drop in the 2nd round.”

“What particularly pains me is the high score of the National Rally. Clearly, we have seen that there is a strong mobilization, but compared to the European elections, the National Rally doubles its scores, compared to things that we have seen recently and that already frightened us. That is what hurts me tonight. In Saint-Avé, I did not think that the RN would do better than in the European elections, but from 24%, it goes to 26%. The mobilization did not go in our direction. Which is surprising and distressing. Like a certain number of French people, we are stunned by the position of the National Rally. We need to sit down, to have a serious discussion. We will make a responsible decision.”

Joseph Martin (National Rally)

“I thank all the voters who gave me their vote, but I could have achieved ten more points if it had not been for this affair triggered by the newspaper Libération. Because of this, I was only able to fight half a campaign. It’s an electoral hold-up. Things are changing and the people are realizing that they have been fooled for 40 years. I’m third and I’m going to stay in the second round, that’s obvious. I call on all socialists of good will to vote for me in the second round. I believe in my chances. From tomorrow, I will start hitting the streets again and meeting voters, in the markets, but also by going door to door.”
