In the three constituencies of Strasbourg, the left comes out on top in the first round of the 2024 legislative elections. The National Rally qualifies for the second round in two of the three constituencies.

The elections follow one another and are similar for the left in Strasbourg. The New Popular Front alliance comes first in the three constituencies of the Alsatian capital, even in the third where it was only runner-up in 2022.

Unlike the 2022 legislative elections, there will be triangulars in two of the three constituencies. This is the other lesson of this election: the National Rally is also progressing in Strasbourg, reaching 3rd place and the minimum bar of votes to access the second round in each of the constituencies.

In detail, the outgoing MP Sandra Regol (EELV – NFP) largely won in Strasbourg in the first constituency, ahead of Etienne Loos (Renaissance) and Hombeline Du Parc (National Rally). It is also the outgoing MP who wins in the 2nd constituency. Emmanuel Fernandes (LFI – NFP) reached 43.91% of the votes, far ahead of Rebecca Breitman (Modem – Ensemble) who accumulated 22.56% of the votes and Virginie Joron (RN) 21.22%.

Finally, and this is a surprise, Thierry Sother (PS – NFP) comes out on top, with 37.94% of the vote. The outgoing MP Bruno Studer (Renaissance) has 28.99% of the vote and the RN candidate Stéphanie Do 23.10%.

The left is therefore making progress compared to the 2022 legislative elections, confirming the good scores in the European elections a month ago. Manon Aubry (La France Insoumise) then won in Strasbourg with 21.3% of the vote ahead of Raphaël Glucksmann (PS) with 18.2%. The far right finished in 4th place.

In the 2022 legislative elections, Strasbourg had been an island of the left in the middle of a wave for the right and the far-right in Alsace. The National Rally had thus reached the second round in five of the nine constituencies of Bas-Rhin, where in Strasbourg the Nupes alliance won in two constituencies and finished second in the last.
