This isn’t the first time the Toronto Pride parade has been disrupted. In 2016, the movement Black Lives Matter had interrupted him for almost half an hour and made a sit-in to demand several reforms, in particular so that the black community is better represented during this public activity.

More than 250 groups

The parade started at the corner of the streets Bloor and Church in the early afternoon. More than 250 groups marched together along the street Yonge to the place Nathan Phillips.

Organizations LGBTQ+ such as theAfrican Centre for Refugees and Toronto Pflag participated.

A Toronto fire truck also rode the parade route, covered in Pride flags and rainbow balloons pinned to its roof.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, sported a rainbow feather boa and blew kisses to the crowd from a float.

At one point during the parade, a light rain fell briefly, but that didn’t stop participants from dancing and smiling, marching to the sound of drums and whistles in colorful outfits.
