Delphine Batho left to stay in the National Assembly? Elected in Deux-Sèvres since 2007, the candidate nominated by the New Popular Front came first in the first round of the legislative elections on June 30. The president of Génération Écologie garnered 38.57%, according to the first results which will be refined in the evening. She is ahead of the RN candidate Mélody Garault (34.12%) and Frédéric Bizard (15.98%) who represents the presidential camp.

Deux-Sèvres, like France, has seen the far right progress without interruption. Jordan Bardella received more than 30% of the votes there during the last European elections, less than a month ago.

For the second round, Delphine Batho calls for blocking the National Rally. “In 2002, I did not hesitate to vote for Jacques Chirac in the second round of the presidential election. The same in 2017, and in 2022, where I invited those who supported me to vote for Macron to block the RN,” she recalled.
