The Cabourg Summer Festival is on!

“After the beach, the racecourse”. Behind this slogan, the figures of the French Trotter are dizzying: the Cabourg meeting, of which West France is a partner again, that’s 17 night meetings, 137 races, 1,750 starters, 8 Quintés +, nearly 110,000 spectators, 3.32 million euros in prize money, more than 101 million euros in bets (1). All this on this small 1,275 m sand track where the turns come very quickly.

The punters have already marked off a few dates: the Grand Prix de la Ville de Cabourg and the Prix Fandango on July 19, the “two highlights in harness and mounted racing”before the Prix des Hêtres on August 5, for example. From this Tuesday evening, they will find their favorite jockeys: Lebourgeois, Lagadeuc, Nivard, Mottier, Thomain, Houel, Dersoir, Barrier, Le Beller…

Every Tuesday and Friday, a theme evening

Very family-friendly, this meeting also attracts many tourists for its atmosphere. Two themes to remember: games on Tuesday, music on Friday. And then theme evenings, such as “Cabourg in the 1900s” starting this Friday, musical quizzes, breakdancing, blind test or disco fever, until the big closing fireworks on August 27.

A cool and potentially mind-blowing new feature, given that these little carts can tear through the track at 45 km/h: sulky baptisms to be won every Tuesday.

Every Tuesday and Friday, from July 2 to August 27, at the Cabourg racecourse. Entrance: €3, invitation to download on hippodrome-cabourg.com/
