After two weeks of campaigning, the results of the first round of the legislative elections were announced on Sunday, June 30, 2024. For the first time, there will be three candidates in the second round, expected on July 7, in the Quimper-Briec-Fouesnant constituency: Annaïg Le Meur (Ensemble), Grégory Lebert (New Popular Front) and Christel Hénaff (National Rally).

Two candidates neck and neck

In detail, Annaïg Le Meur came out on top with a total of 22,422 votes, or 33% of the votes cast. 119 votes behind the outgoing MP, Grégory Lebert garnered 22,303 votes, or 32.83% of the votes cast. For her part, Christel Hénaff created a surprise and obtained 17.42% of the votes, or 23.67% of the votes cast.

Arriving in fourth position, Alain Le Grand (LR) with 5,652 votes (8.32% of votes cast), followed by Serge Hardy (Workers’ Struggle) with 858 votes (1.26% of votes cast) and France Herman (Reconquête!) with 620 votes (0.91% of votes cast).

Record turnout

The turnout rate also created a surprise, reaching 75.36% for a total of 69,589 voters, out of 92,336 registered voters. A record compared to the 54.45% obtained in 2022, during the last elections. Finistère also came out on top of the departments where the most votes were cast this Sunday.
