The tragedy was not far away, since this Vauclusian explained that he usually kept these frozen hamburger steaks for his 2-year-old son.
A very unpleasant surprise. On his X account (ex-Twitter), a man called out the Picard brand on Thursday, after a mishap which could have turned into a tragedy. Maxime Peyron says in his message that he injured himself while eating a steak from the frozen food brand. “After biting into my frozen steak, I feel something crunching in my mouth”he writes. “I realize that I am bleeding. When I took out the piece of steak, I found a piece of glass in my frozen minced steak.he continues, adding to his post photos of the meat and the piece of glass found inside.
Questioned by our colleagues from France Bleu Vaucluse, this Vauclusian explains having found “a second piece, whole this time”of glass, while opening his steak. And the disaster was not far away: this local radio host specifies that he usually keeps these frozen hamburger steaks for his 2-year-old son. “I had the reflex to spit, but my son… He might as well have swallowed the piece of glass or worse! He wouldn't have said anything to me and continued to eat even though there was this other piece in the middle.”he imagines, panicked.

Picard apologizes
The frozen food brand presented its “apologies for this incident”in a response to the father's message on X. To clarify this matter, the company asked him for his full contact details as well as the batch number of the product in question. To France Bleu, Maxime Peyron specified that he had also written to the Departmental Directorate for Population Protection (DDPP) of Vaucluse, which opened an investigation. The idea being to understand how glass could have ended up in this steak, and if Picard is responsible for this incident.
According to Philippe Bernard, director of the DDPP of Vaucluse, interviewed by local radio, “It can’t happen when the meat is kneaded, it’s impossible.” Maxime Peyron also called out ANSES (National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety) on social networks, which did not respond.
