This Saturday, November 23, during the first day of the Gastronomy Fair which takes place at the Chorus Exhibition Center in Vannes, the 18th edition of the competition for the best almond pancake in the department took place. 17 candidates passed before a jury of five people, including Eric Blancho, president of the Morbihan Interdepartmental Bakery Federation and Jacques Annonier, president of the jury and best bakery worker in France.
Cooking and decor
Participants had to respect a few criteria: cooking, decoration of the cake, almond or frangipane cream, foliage and balancing. The first six will go to the regional competition on December 4 in Quimper. The big winner is Thomas Arhuero from Fournil des trois rois in Vannes, followed by Romain Marguerite from Maison Marguerite in Noyal-Pontivy, Loïc Doucet from the Crespin bakery in Lorient in third position. In fourth, fifth and sixth positions, we find Abaléa Philippe from Abaléa de Pluvigner, Margaux Durand from Brech and Guillaume Effray from Ploeren.
