what happens to Mattheo Xantippe?

Mattheo Xantippe left Amiens during the last summer transfer window. Trained at the club, he has just finished his first season outside the Picard club. He had signed up in Grenoble until June 2026, a 3-year lease.

A complicated season

Born in Amiens and arrived at the club in 2008, Mattheo Xantippe is a child of Amiens. Having gone through all the youth classes, he turned professional in 2021, at the age of 19. The two seasons he played with the A team, he played 44 Ligue 2 matches and provided 5 assists. His contract was not renewed, which prompted him to leave. In July 2023, he signed with GF38 for a period of 3 years.

This season in Isère, he has had a difficult start. Between August 5 and December 5, he only played two matches, for a total of 99 minutes. After this complicated period, between December 16 and March 16, he played 692 minutes in 10 matches. After this long period he fell back into his ways and no longer found playing time in Ligue 2. He is under contract for two more years, it is up to him to prove that he deserves to play more in the future.

The Grenoble team started the season with a bang, they stayed at the top of Ligue 2 for many months. On the 21st day, the GF38 was 3rd in the antechamber of French football. From the 24th day, everything went wrong. The Isère club did not win a match until the 33rd day. During this period, they lost 7 matches. Over the last 15 days of the championship, they lost 10 times and only won 3 matches. They therefore went from 3rd place to 11th in a very short time. An end to the season to forget.
