A scene of horror in this usually quiet seaside resort. On the night of Friday to Saturday, two young men were stabbed outside a nightclub located on the Remblai des Sables d’Olonne, a police source told the JDD. The two victims, aged around twenty, were transferred by helicopter first to the Roche hospital, then to Nantes as an emergency. One of them is still in a coma.
In the last few hours, the JDD spoke with several witnesses to the scene. Around 2am, in the nightclub “Le Paradise”, the main club in Les Sables d’Olonne, “a group of young people from the suburbs of La Roche-sur-Yon” (according to a bouncer at the club) started insulting another group of locals for “bad looks”. “Drunk Guys’ Troubles”, says a witness. The group, composed of “five young people of Maghrebi and African origin”according to a police source, became angry, and one of them hit a member of the other group. The first group of Yonnais was thrown out of the club.

Around 5 a.m., as the day begins to dawn, the group of Sablais friends, many of whom play for the local RCS rugby club, leave the club to return. They disperse. Martin*, Eliot* and one of their friends return home. A witness says: “And there, in a street in Les Sables, the same guys as in the club came back with knives that they had obviously gone to get from their car. They ran towards them and stabbed them several times.” Hit in the abdomen, one of the two young men had to have his spleen removed. He woke up yesterday afternoon. The other is still in an induced coma.

According to our information, the police identified the attackers thanks to surveillance videos, visibly helped by the loss of the bag of one of the attackers in the nightclub. An investigation led by the judicial police officers is underway.
