The French N1 champion USB Bordeaux hoped to ride the euphoria of the title to tease the Val-d’Oise club and why not experience a happy ending. But that was before the first leg which had already put Pedrag Nosovic’s men in a very uncomfortable position to seek the ticket to the elite, since the outlay of eight goals was almost prohibitive (8-16).
The logical defeat of the return match in even more significant proportions on Saturday evening only served to measure the giant gap between the top level and the antechamber (17-4).
