Olympism and the values of sport

They arrived by the thousands, walking, running, cycling, in strollers or perched on Dad’s back. As soon as the doors opened at 10 a.m., kids, parents and grandparents flocked to the park of Bénouville castle.

It must be said that the sun was out, and the Department of Calvados had warned that it would be last meeting in this magnificent sitewhich will soon undergo a long period of work.

A few weeks before the Paris Olympics, the organizers had chosen to dedicate this 7th edition to Olympism and the values of sport. Many fun, sporting and entertaining activities were on the program!

The firefighters and the ponies are a hit

Basketball, handball, judo, boxing, athletics, archery : the children were thus able to test numerous disciplines in the company of caring educators.

While all the stands were well attended, some were more successful than others. This is the case for the fire brigade village which was always full of people all day long. You even had to be patient to get there. A wait that was well worth it when the parents saw their child’s eyes light up as soon as he set foot in a big red truck!
